Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Voice Actor Charlie Cox Feels like a Fraud

Among Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s major draws was its cast of voice stars since the turn-based RPG included voices from Charlie Cox, Ben Starr, Jennifer English, and Andy Serkis. For Cox, critical acclaim for the game wasn’t lost on him, and he said that he only heard good things about it. In jest, the actor of Daredevil admitted to feeling like he was a “total fraud” for only getting to spend hours in a studio recording his lines for Gustave because he ended up becoming an early favorite among fans.

DUDE? CLAIR OBSCUR EXPEDITION 33 IS GAME OF THE FUCKING YEAR

“I don’t want to undermine it at all, and seemingly, the game’s terrific. I don’t game, I haven’t played it,” Cox said at Washington State Summer Con (via Culture Crave). “The studio came over and asked me to come and do a voiceover—I was at the studio for 4 hours. Everybody’s saying ‘congrats’ and I feel like such an imposter. But I am just over the moon for the company, I’m over the moon it did very well.”

EXPEDITION 33 ACTOR HE’s A FUCKING FRAUD

Although he only spent a day on work on Expedition 33, his character still provided an immense boost for the game, most notably during its first hours and at its end of its first act. Cox’s acting and that of other cast were all hailed unanimously for their subtle and emotional acting, which helped Expedition 33 be best-reviewed for some months. Dev Sandfall Interactive was also talking about what’s next for Expedition 33. The studio is thinking about adding “a very wide range of future improvements” like more localization and accessibility options. Sandfall is also getting ready to develop its next game, and while it’s willing to reveal what its next game is possibly, it did talk about how it’s got some “great ideas” to experiment with on it.

Update: Uhhhh…DUDE?
